Ran In-ting did not leave many watercolor paintings and his drawings in watercolors are rarely seen even in the regular exhibitions held by the National Art Museum. This work of Farmhouses was painted in 1958 with the most common subject matter at that time. Plenty of passionate and friendly folk people show up on the picture plane, which is a dreamworld for the contemporaries undoubtedly. Being a follower of Isikawa Kinichirou Ran In-ting surpassed Isikawa Kinichirou in variations and figure arrangements. It will be needless to say that Ran In-ting plays an important part in the history of watercolor paintings. Applications of tools and the capability of water and color control, in particular make him become the watercolors maestro of the twentieth century.
