LIN Hsi-tang

Taiwanese 1925 - 2002

Born in Taipei. He followed Li Shih-chiao to study painting and then entered the watercolorist Ran In-ting's studio. He ever organized the Big Natural Art Association with fellow artists. His paintings are frequently shown at Taiyang Fin Arts Exhibition and Provincial Fine Arts Exhibition. Lin passed a non-examination qualification of Provincial Fine Arts Exhibition and was also prized in a Japanese salon exhibition. While studying after Li Shih-chiao, Lin concentrated on technical expression. Without any experience of studying abroad or illustrious family background, Lin worked very hard to observe and to depict what he ever saw. His modest and truly quality accorded to the object he ever presented in the work.
