YU Hsiao-hao


Taiwanese 1938


Born in Taichung. He is currently the associate professor in St. John's University and researcher of The Chinese Ceramic Society. In 1979, Yu won the President Award of Chinese Modern Ceramics Exhibition. He was selected for the internal and external Biennale International exhibition in 1981 and entered the Exhibition of Modern Ceramic for woodblock artist in 1982. From the year of 1983 to 1984, Yu entered in the 39th, 40th Italian International Exhibition and the 7th, 9th Ceramic Biennale International Exhibition in France. In 1985, Yu participated in the Joint Exhibition for Ceramic artist at Howard solo, The Modern Ceramic Exhibition in New Aspect Art Center and Ceramic Exhibition in National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts. Yu adept in using fish patterns as the decorations on his ceramics and are customarily created using a gray mat glaze.
